Education and Enrichment Services
Education and Enrichment Services
Education and Enrichment Services (EES) provides low-income and immigrant youth in the West San Gabriel Valley with afterschool and summer programming, internships, and volunteer opportunities. Our kindergarten through 8th grade programs have an academic focus on supplemental instruction in English, Language Arts, and Math, as well as STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) programming and Healthy Living. Youth participants receive homework assistance in all academic subjects as well as recreation, mentoring, social and emotional learning, and other positive youth development activities. The programs are registered Heritage Schools providing Chinese language and other cultural education components as well. We offer internship and volunteer opportunities for high school and college-aged youth to tutor K-8th grade students.

Youth & Parent Leadership Development
The Youth & Parent Leadership Development (YPLD) unit develops the leadership skills of immigrant families. Asian Youth Center works with racially diverse youth in Los Angeles and the San Gabriel Valley through the creation of public High School Dream Resource Centers. These centers support the academic, social, and emotional needs of students and families of AYC’s communities by creating a safe space that is centered around the experiences of mixed-status families, immigrants, undocumented youth, LGBTQ+ youth, and advocates. Working in partnership with the Dream Allies Network, United Teachers Los Angeles, Alhambra Teachers Association, and National Education Association, our aim is to develop leaders that are invested in the creation of healthy and sustainable communities.
